ok but for real why does the kabuki book have a surplus of $8,000 and is rejecting so many entries?? why isn’t there any transparency to cash flow into charity? if this is a “fanbook” why is all the fans money unaccounted for and the fans don’t seem to be allowed that much participation? am i the only one worried about this??

thats actually a really good point. I entered the first artbook and it had the same problem, and i think they even had a larger surplus, and their excuse was that the money would go to printing extra copies. they needed to let more art in.

o man REALLY – see this is what i’m confused about, why are they administering such strict judgement regulations when they have MORE than enough to pretty much include EVERY entry – now I KNOW quality is a factor, with any project, charitable or not, it’s necessary – but most of the rejected pieces i’m seeing on my dash are BEAUTIFUL and with out a doubt submissable, esp since the fandom is proving that with reblogs and positive comments – ergo my question about this actually being a “fan” book and not an attempt at earning a surplus for personal consumption

I’m good friends with those responsible for the amralimefanbook and we’ve talked at great length how the kabuki numbers don’t add up / make sense – these worries aren’t easily digested with the recent offhanded comment about the delay of judging being due to “roleplaying while judging” are they not taking this seriously? Are they that unprofessional with works that take HOURS if not DAYS to complete, are they being flippant with our artists devotion and creative sacrifice?? I really hope not, I really hope they wouldn’t discount the awesome feat of a fandom producing FOURTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS to produce a ONE artbook.

I could be wrong on a number of arguments or assumptions – but it’s hard to gauge any clear understanding when they refuse to publish receipts, keep hidden the names of the charities they are donating to and are either extremely vague in the questions we send them / completely ignore our emails.

Our fandom is very small and tight nit and I’d hate to think we could easily be manipulated – I feel very protective in the light of all this unfolding “fishy” behavior.
