Watching Igor Stravinsky & Coco Chanel (Contains Spoilers)

So I watched Igor & Coco yesterday and let me tell you, I’m very conflicted over this movie. Mads plays Igor Stravinsky, the famous Russian composer who has an affair with Coco Chanel, the creator of all the Chanel products. The reason I’m so conflicted with this movie is some of this review will be based solely on my moral judgments (which seem really really really bad but I can’t help it)

With the acting aspect of it all, Mads and Anna (Chanel) was great, I could really tell that they both had so chemistry from the start but I didn’t like the ending It just seemed really boring ( the last scene was basically Chanel going to Igor’s concerts)  I was so angry at Igor because there’s a scene in the movie where Igor’s wife flats out ask him was he cheating on her with Coco and he just looks at her and I’m like what the hell?? you could just told her and just end the relationship (but then I remember that this takes place during the early 1900’s and I’m pretty sure they didn’t do things like that)

Another scene that made me upset is when Coco gave Igor’s wife Katia a black and white suit, Katia didn’t like the black and white room they they had to sleep in, what the hell do you think she would want black and white clothes ?? I think she did that to piss her off really. Out of all this hate I do like one scene when Katia was very sick and didn’t want to stay at Coco’s house anymore but before she left she wrote a letter to Chanel basically saying (I don’t see why you want him in your life when he should be in families life )

Now the things that are in this movie can disputed because I did some research and it was said that Igor was a family man and didn’t cheat on his wife  but hey things could change I would really like to see some more info on it. So in conclusion I didn’t really like this film and this is probably my least favorite Mads movie

Interviewer: You like jeans, leather jacket, cigarettes, ride a motorcycle – are you more testosterone burdened than the Marlboro man?

Mads: Maybe – but then with a big dash of a father! Yes, I like a cold beer and sports. I am certainly not the romantic guy. Rather a though softie. Just an own mix.

Mads Mikkelsen, our tough softie :]
