The Good, The Bad, and The Truth

The good: Hannibal increased 60% in our Live +3 ratings from last week. WELL DONE EVERYONE. This was just shy of greatest increase.

The bad:  We held steady at a rather low rating this week (.5). With a slight increase in total number.

The truth: Ratings are LARGELY OUT OF OUR HANDS. What we can do is 

  • TWEET DURING EPISODES, AIMING TO INCREASE OUR UNIQUE AUDIENCE AND THUS OUR TWITTER RATINGS, THAT IS FOLLOW NEW PEOPLE AND REPLY/RT TO AS MANY DIFFERENT PEOPLE AS YOU CAN.
  • DRIVE TRAFFIC AND REWATCH ON NBC.COM AFTER THE EPISODE.

Here is how they work:

Tweets – Tweets ascribed to a linear TV episode. – WE ARE SO BALLING AT THIS.

Unique Authors – Unique Twitter accounts that have sent at least one Tweet ascribed to a specific TV episode.  WE ARE LOW HERE BUT WE KNOW THAT

Impressions – The number of times any Tweets ascribed to a TV episode were seen. WE ARE ALSO BALLING AT THIS

THIS IS WHERE WE TEND TO LOSE IT – Unique Audience – The total number of distinct Twitter accounts accruing at least one impression of one or more different Tweets ascribed to a TV episode. 

IN PLAIN-SPEAK, HOW MANY TIMES IS YOUR #HANNIBAL POST RT/REPLIED/LIKED? OUR PROBLEM BOILS DOWN TO THIS, WE ARE SORT OF INCESTUOUS. WE REPLY TO EACH OTHER AND TO THE PEOPLE WE KNOW.

THIS WEEK OUR GOAL NEEDS TO BE

  • TO FOLLOW NEW (TO YOU) FANNIBALS ON TWITTER
  • TO MAKE SURE TO WATCH THE TAG DURING THE EPISODE (TWEETDECK VERY CONVENIENT FOR THIS)
  • TO RT/REPLY TO AS MANY UNIQUE PEOPLE (THAT IS DIFFERENT) PEOPLE ON TWITTER AS POSSIBLE

I AM GOING TO MAKE A LIST OF FANNIBALS ON TWITTER THAT I HAVE, AND THIS COULD BE A REALLY FUN WAY FOR US TO IMPROVE RATINGS AND MAKE NEW FRIENDS!
